I travelled to The Grind in Spennymoor for Grind Fest which was a bank holiday Sunday festival. I had several drinks including some delicious cocktails and gorgeous Hot Dogs (pictured) which were a special on the day. It was the best hot dog I’ve actually ever had and I wish I knew where they were from! The staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Special thank you to Amy who looked after us. We loved the Sunday at The Grind so much we came back on Bank Holiday Monday to have breakfasts and got 1 Eggs Benedict and a 1 Full English. The quality of the meat on the breakfast was obvious and they advised it was from a local Butcher and told me which one. I loved the black pudding, the homemade potato rosti and the brioche toast. It was a very special breakfast. Washed down with some local coffee, the flat white was particularly good. The grind was clean and I used the toilet which was nicely done out and also clean. 5/5. The only downside for me is they haven’t got more cafes as I’d like one nearer my house! We will be back soon!

This was the last place I came with my dad before he started chemo and the first place I have visited since his passing. We enjoyed the food on the first visit and it was welcomed again on the second visit. Thank you for the hospitality and I hope to be able to share some happier times here in the future.

I came in with family this evening for food and drinks this evening. This is exactly what Spennymoor has been missing! The halloumi fries, babybels and the bloomin onion were unreal! The cocktails were to die for and the atmosphere is brilliant. It’s the kind of place you’d expect to find in a busy city centre. Staff are attentive and really knowledgeable about the food and drinks. 100% recommended!!

Amazing! First off, the staff are so friendly. They never hesitate to answer any questions and make you feel so welcome, no matter the day/time. The decor and the atmosphere are great. I keep finding new details to admire. Love the surprise in the ladies loo as well! The new menu is to die for! Gorgeous. I hate to admit I’ve had two burgers in the space of a week but can’t resist. This isn’t bog standard stuff - this is a menu that’s been properly thought through and they’ve thought outside the box! Unique things I haven’t seen before - super tasty. Try it all. The cocktail menu is equally fab - loads of choice and beautifully presented.

Took a trip to Spennymoor today courtesy of my better half. Went for brunch here and was impressed. Waited to be seated at the back of the restaurant. We ordered Pancakes with Bacon and maple syrup, Eggs Spicy Tex Mex washed down with a Flat white and Pot of Yorkshire tea. The food was delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only pet peeve for my wife is that the Flat white comes in a glass cup without a handle. Definitely recommend a visit and wifey will order her Drink in a normal cup next time.
